How to Find a Bitcoin ATM
First, locate an ATM! Enter your address or zip code into our ATM locator to find the nearest locations. To find an ATM where you can sell your cryptocurrency, check the “Sell” box under the search bar. Look for the purple markers on the map indicating these locations.
What is the Difference Between Buy and Sell ATMs?
Buy ATMs have one function, so they're smaller and simpler, which means they're easier to service, break down less often, require less energy, can hold more cash, and take up less floor space. Buy/Sell ATMs can do everything a Buy ATM can, but it can dispense cash as well, which requires a whole different stack of machinery. Because they're bigger and more complicated, Buy/Sell machines aren't as common as Buy-only machines.
How Sell Through CoinFlip ATMs
When you arrive at the ATM, select the cryptocurrency you’d like to sell. The available coins vary by country:
In the U.S., you can sell Bitcoin or Litecoin.
In Australia, you can also sell Ethereum.
Next, the ATM will present CoinFlip’s Terms of Service. You will also see a warning against participating in scams. All crypto transactions are final and irreversible, even if fraudulent. Make sure to read the Terms of Service carefully and stay vigilant.
Sell Limits and You
After accepting the Terms of Service, select how much crypto you’d like to sell. You’ll have two options:
Up to $960
More than $960
For transactions up to $960, you’ll need to input your name, date of birth, and phone number. You’ll receive a One Time Passcode via text to verify your phone number, then you can proceed.
For transactions over $960, the ATM will still ask for your name, birth date, and phone number, and you’ll need to enter the One Time Passcode. Additionally, you’ll receive a link via text to our identity verification partner, Veriff. Follow the prompts on the Veriff website, including taking photos of your ID and a selfie. You may need to call our Customer Support team to complete your registration.
After registration, you’ll have a daily transaction limit of $2995.00*, and you’ll be ready to sell at the ATM. *Limits can vary by location. For questions, call our 24/7 Customer Support team at 877-757-2646.

Fees
Fees for selling at CoinFlip Bitcoin ATMs vary by location but are generally around 5%. All fees will be displayed in the price of the cryptocurrency being sold. If you have a discount code, it will be subtracted from your transaction fees.
In Australia, where you can sell Ether, you will also need to pay Ethereum gas fees. Learn more about gas fees here.
Cash Dispensing
Specify the amount of cash you’d like to withdraw and click “Sell.” The ATM’s QR code will appear on screen, along with the specific amount of crypto you need to send. If you miss the QR code, you’ll receive a text with the ATM’s wallet address and the amount of crypto to send.
Scan the QR code with your crypto wallet and use the “Send” function to send the exact amount of crypto specified. Ensure you’re not sending an amount in US dollars to avoid errors. You have a 45-minute window to complete the transaction.
After sending the required amount of crypto, wait for a text confirming your funds are ready for withdrawal. Once confirmed, select “Redeem” on the ATM and re-verify your phone number. Confirm your transaction and collect your cash! You’ll receive a receipt via text. If you don’t receive a receipt, request one by calling Customer Support.
