For over twenty years, Rory Herriman has been an industry leader in network performance engineering and product development, and has served as Chief Technical Officer for some of the Midwest’s most innovative technology companies. He joined the CoinFlip Team in August of 2021 as Chief Technology, Digital, and Strategy Officer. Rory leads a global team of software engineers, hardware engineers and product managers in the development of next generation blockchain and crypto-based financial services. 

Prior to joining CoinFlip, Rory served as the Global Chief Technology Officer and Head of Digital Payments at PayComplete. He has served as Co-Founder and CTO at two leading technology companies: NEXVU from 2002-2006 and Ponvia Technology from 2006-2016. At Ponvia Technology, he developed and launched one of the industry’s first multi-modal dialogue platforms for AI-based customer self-service. 

Rory earned a Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) from The George Washington University and a Master’s in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He holds Adjunct Professorships in the Departments of Engineering at both Johns Hopkins University and Vanderbilt University, where he teaches graduate-level courses. He is a frequent speaker at technology conferences and is a member of multiple industry standards boards. He serves as an advisor to several notable technology startups.
