Reflecting on an Australian Crypto Convention Experience

A heartfelt thank you to all the incredible guests who visited our booth during the Australian Crypto Convention in Sydney! Your energy and enthusiasm for our mission to provide easy on and off ramp digital solutions in the blockchain economy fueled our excitement. It was great to meet so many individuals who share our vision for the future of finance.

Showcasing Innovation and Exciting Offers

Our booth was full of energy as we featured our CoinFlip ATMs, which are shaping the way people interact with cryptocurrency.

One of the biggest highlights? Watching attendees interact with our ATMs firsthand. We loved seeing the curiosity and enthusiasm when live attendees tested our machines and learned how they make crypto accessible to everyone. Events like these are where the magic happens—when we get to share our work, gather feedback, and reimagine what’s possible in the blockchain world.

Insights from Ben Brockliss, Vice President for APAC

Ben Brockliss, our VP for CoinFlip in the Asia-Pacific region, took the stage to deliver a session that resonated deeply with the audience. Drawing on his extensive background in IT and networking, Ben discussed how far technology has come—and what’s next for the blockchain industry. Ben spoke about the parallels between the early days of the internet and today’s cryptocurrency landscape. He reflected on the complexity of getting online in the 1990s when modems and cables were necessary, and how these barriers were eventually eliminated as technology matured.

“Think of how the internet has been abstracted into everyday devices like smartphones and TVs,” Ben explained. “We no longer see the network layer because all the heavy lifting happens behind the scenes. The same evolution is now unfolding for cryptocurrency. We’re at the stage where users still need significant knowledge to get started. But our mission is to simplify that experience and wrap it in a user-friendly interface.”

Ben also addressed some of the biggest barriers to crypto adoption, including the fear and hesitation faced by newcomers. “People know crypto is coming; they’re curious, but they’re intimidated,” he said. By creating intuitive solutions like CoinFlip ATMs and self-custodial wallets, we’re bridging that gap and making cryptocurrency approachable for everyone—from city-based investors to rural communities.

Bridging the Cash-Digital Divide

During his presentation, Ben highlighted the pressing need for accessible tools that connect cash and digital currencies. Cash usage is declining globally, but we believe it’s not disappearing entirely. It has a role to play, especially in underserved areas where digital payments haven’t been fully adopted.

“We’re stepping into regions where banks and cash services are vanishing, leaving gaps that traditional finance isn’t addressing,” said Ben. CoinFlip is filling this void with a growing network of crypto ATMs in Australia and beyond, ensuring people have access to cash and digital assets in one seamless experience.

Ben was candid about the challenges ahead, noting that crypto still needs robust regulation to gain widespread trust. But he also struck an optimistic tone, envisioning a future where crypto interfaces are as user-friendly as modern banking apps. “At CoinFlip, we’re building that bridge—providing real-world access to blockchain technology and empowering communities everywhere.”
