Do you need identification to use a Bitcoin ATM?
Yes and no. CoinFlip breaks down transaction limits into 3 tiers, all requiring different amounts of identifying information: Tier 1 $20-$960, Tier 2 $960-$2,995, Tier 3 $2,995-$19,000 - daily.
$20-$960 - For Bitcoin ATM transactions below $960, you only need to enter your name, date of birth, and mobile phone number.
$960-$2,995 - For transactions between $960 and $2,995, you must register as a tier 2 customer. You can do this at the Bitcoin ATM or online. To register, you must submit your name and mobile phone number in addition to a government-issued photo ID. Our third-party verification system, Veriff, will process your credentials.
$2,995-$19,000 - For transactions between $2,995 and $19,000, you must share your name, mobile number, government-issued photo ID, submit to Veriff, plus enter your social security number. To make transactions within this range, you will first need to call CoinFlip's 24/7 customer support line at (877) 757-2646 before completing your transaction.
What types of ID does a Bitcoin ATM accept?
